About MeLetters

Helping Everyday People Stand Up for Their Rights

MeLetters.co.uk was built on a simple belief: that access to a well-written formal letter should not depend on whether you can afford a solicitor. Every year, millions of people in the UK lose out on refunds they are owed, live in properties that should have been repaired months ago, and accept workplace treatment that falls short of what the law requires — not because their case is weak, but because they do not know how to put it in writing.

Who Runs MeLetters

MeLetters is run by a small, independent team based in the UK. The team combines experience in consumer rights, employment law, and digital product development. None of us are solicitors — but all of us have, at various points, needed to write a formal letter to a business, a landlord, or an employer and struggled to find a tool that made it genuinely easy.

That frustration is what led to MeLetters. We wanted to build something that would give ordinary people the same quality of written communication that a professional might produce — without the cost, the waiting time, or the need to explain your situation to a stranger.

Why We Built MeLetters

The UK has some of the strongest consumer, tenant, and employment rights in the world. The Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Housing Act, the Employment Rights Act — these are powerful pieces of legislation that protect ordinary people. The problem is not the law. The problem is that most people do not know how to use it.

A formal complaint letter, written correctly and sent to the right place, is often enough to resolve a dispute that would otherwise drag on for months. Businesses settle complaints they might otherwise ignore when they see that a customer understands their rights. Landlords carry out repairs. Employers take grievances seriously. The letter is the lever — and most people simply do not have one.

MeLetters gives everyone access to that lever. For free, in minutes, without needing a law degree or a solicitor.

How Our Letters Are Generated

Our letter generator uses AI trained on UK legal frameworks, formal correspondence conventions, and thousands of examples of effective complaint and formal letters. When you describe your situation, the generator does not produce a generic template — it produces a personalised letter specific to your circumstances, your chosen tone, and the applicable UK legislation.

The generator is aware of key pieces of legislation relevant to each letter type — including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Housing Act, the Employment Rights Act, the Protection from Eviction Act, and others — and references them appropriately in the letter. It also adapts for different contexts: whether you are writing to a large corporation, a small local business, a landlord, or a public body.

Every letter is generated fresh. Nothing is stored without your consent. You can download your letter as a PDF immediately, and no account is required to generate or download.
